SCOMEF-DV is a dual-action medication formulated to provide comprehensive relief from Pain / Inflammation, particularly those accompanied by smooth muscle spasms. Each tablet of SCOMEF-DV contains 250 mg of Mefenamic Acid and 80 mg of Drotaverine HCl. Mefenamic Acid belongs to the NSAID class, working by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins, key mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever. This action provides potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Drotaverine HCl is a papaverine-like antispasmodic that directly acts on smooth muscles, reducing spasms by inhibiting phosphodiesterase IV, leading to increased intracellular cAMP and subsequent relaxation. The synergistic action of these two components in SCOMEF-DV makes it highly effective in treating a wide range of conditions characterized by spasmodic pain, such as primary dysmenorrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, renal and biliary colic, and other forms of acute spasmodic Pain / Inflammation.
